Only 10 days for a secure and weathertight shell! And after about 10 days, you should have the roof on and windows in. With a QuickBuild Home, the floor should be finished and fully insulated within 4 days and often within 2 days. Traditional concrete foundations usually take several weeks before you have the floor down. Our 95sqm house can be build in less than a month (depending on number of workers and weather etc.) making it an achievable task. Most people simply can’t afford to take 4 or 5 months off work to build a house. Because QuickBuild Homes are all prefabricated, there is very little wastage! (and a lot less waste packaging material to be disposed of at the end of the job.) With a traditional house there is a lot of wastage. Traditional houses are delivered to site in many stages.Ī QuickBuild Home comes in one delivery with everything in it! (as listed here) QuickBuild Homes are efficiently engineered Windows are very easy and quick to fit, taking around two hours to install all of them. The wall panels are individually numbered and already have all the holes for electricity and plumbing. Steel bearers are all pre-cut and pre-drilled (drill your own holes for your pipes and cables). There are no gib walls, no fluffy insulation, no timber frames or trusses. You will not so much be a Builder, as an Assembler. We thought to ourselves "That's hardly a kit-set! That's more of a Self Build!" In the early days, we found that other kit-set houses are merely the same materials and processes that a skilled builder will use, meaning you were still forced to get a licensed builder to do the job for you! (You can still get a builder to help you if you want to though.) So long as you can use a tape measure, a level and a drill gun, you should have no problem building a QuickBuild Home. The Easiest Way - Do it Yourself! QuickBuild Homes have been designed for the DIY'er with the typical Kiwi "Can-do" attitude and sense of determination. We provide lots of 3D drawings and photos with your house to guide you in the assembly of each stage.Įvery single step has been engineered to be simpler, easier and quicker than a traditional build.Īll plumbing fittings are easily accessible after construction. An Easy to follow Assembly Manual is included. The only nails you will need to use are for the deck.Įverything is supplied! The only exception is the concrete for the piles, gas fittings & pipes if required, and the heat-pump pipes. Most parts come pre-manufactured and pre-painted. With a QuickBuild Home you do not need to know how to cut timber, fix/joint gib or even use a paintbrush! Most kit-set homes require a LBP to assemble. You do not need to be a “Licensed Building Practitioner” (LBP aka Builder) to assemble one of our homes ( you can read more about your obligations here) but you can use one if you want. The below image is the result of using the parameters shown in the images above. With a QuickBuild Home, anyone can build their own home (with a helper or two!) Once you have entered all the parameters in the Activity Properties and Activity Routing % tabs, select the Update or OK button and your simulation will be created automatically. If unchecked an end point will not be added when the simulation is updated, if an existing end point exists this will be deleted. If unchecked a start point will not be added when the simulation is updated, if an existing start point exists this will be deleted.Īdd End Point - If checked this will automatically create an End Point, this end point will be connected to any Activity which has no route out links. If the first activity does not have an In-Queue it will be connected to the activity. These options allow control of whether Start and End Points are automatically added using Quick Build.Īdd Start Point - If checked this will automatically create 1 Start Point, this start point will be connected to the first activities In-Queue in the Activity properties Table. Update New and Existing Activities – This will create any new activities you have added to the table since the simulation was last updated using Quick Build and also update any changes to the parameters of existing activities. Any changes to the parameters of existing activities will be ignored. Update New Activities – This will only create any new activities you have added to the table since the simulation was last updated using Quick Build. These options relate to how the simulation will be updated when Update or OK are clicked. If all fields are left blank all the route out links for that activity will be deleted. If the activities are not connected by routing arrows it will automatically create them. This table contains all defined activities in the Activity Properties Table, it will set each activities routing to Route Out Percent.Įach activities routing % can be edited in the table by entering a number between 0-100.
